Oscar David Harris was born in Cleveland, Ohio to Ray and Ella Louise Harris on November 24, 1958. He accepted Christ at an early age and was an active member of Holy Trinity Church and Cultural Arts Center.

He graduated from John Hay High School in 1977 after which he joined the U.S. Army from 1977 to 1981, with an honorable discharge. He also graduated from the Institute of Technology in 1984 in which he earned a certificate in Building and Factory Maintenance Repair.

Oscar was an active member of Alcoholics Anonymous (AA), since September 13, 2006. He celebrated 17 years of sobriety in Apthorp (home group). Oscar also served as the chairperson for the Leesville Experience Spiritual Retreat beginning in 2012. He enjoyed going to his spiritual retreats twice a year where he met many new friends.

Oscar loved spending time with family and friends and working on cars in his free time. He loved reading his BIG BOOK, he also enjoyed doing puzzles and watching action movies.

Oscar David Harris was preceded in death by his father Ray Harris, mother Ella Louise Harris, brothers; Harry Harris and Eugene Wright Jr., brother-in-law, Herman Ciers, a special friend, Loretta Howard, and his son Darryl "Chyna Man" Howard and a host of family members and friends.

He leaves to cherish his memories: fiancé, Chandra Brown, daughters; Sarita L. Harris, O'zjhanae Harris-Scott (Clinton), Charde Harris (Roosevelt), Tamika Ross (Rodrick), and Evette Evans (Vincent) of Cleveland, Ohio, son; Darnell Howard Sr. sisters; Stephanie Harris-Ciers, Las Vegas, NV, Virginia Susan Harris, Cleveland, Ohio. niece; TaWanda Louise Harris (LaTreese) Akron, Ohio, great-niece; Jade Ashley Harris (Edward) nephew; Herman Ciers (Gloria), Washington, DC. Eugene Wright, Sr. (bonus father), brothers, Ricky and Derrick Wright; sister: Yvonne Wright-Dowdell (Ken) of Cleveland, Ohio. grandchildren: Jaleeya, Sa'Mya, Roosevelt, Chyna, Elijah, Cilton, Evian, Darion, Da'Karian, Valencia, Demetrius, D'ajha, Najhee and a host of other family members and friends.
